All the gadgets you need to help make your lifestyle more enjoyable

Some clever chap once said that the past is another country. He was dead right, especially when it comes to the pace of change in new technology.

There are relatively recent innovations that are now so familiar it’s hard to remember when they weren’t around. We all know that there was a time when TV didn’t exist, but it’s almost impossible to imagine what it must have been like. Pretty boring probably, what with all that needlepoint, Latin homework and radio drama.

Working on the same logic, I suppose there must have been a time when the Xbox 360 wasn’t around, but you know something? I can’t for the life of me remember what that was like. The Xbox 360 remains the big daddy of the video game console and has become an integral part of our lives: at the beginning of the year someone much smarter than me worked out that there are over 50 million Xbox 360 consoles worldwide. That’s a lot of people playing God of War III and Red Dead Redemption.

Apart from delivering the ultimate gaming experience, one of the great things about the Xbox 360 are all the extras, like the photo viewer. Once upon a time you had to load your camera with film then take it to the chemist to get your photos developed. Nowadays, there’s an amazing choice of cheap digital cameras which mean we can take photos whenever we want and see them straight away on our Xbox. Sorted!

Which is one of the reasons why when it comes to technology, the past is a country I never want to visit.
